Orlando Pirates Sign Thalente Mbatha
After releasing the likes of Richard Ofori, Souaibou Marou and Fortune Makaringe, Orlando Pirates are looking to bolster their ranks with new recruits ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
According to reports, midfielder Thalente Mbatha is Pirates’ first signing for the upcoming season.
In a tweet made by a local sports publication on Saturday, 8 June, the 24-year-old “now belongs to Orlando Pirates on a permanent basis. Deal finalised with SuperSport United.”
Mbatha’s agent, Mike Makaab, also confirmed his client’s signing on Twitter/X: “He will stay at Pirates.”
Mbatha, who joined the Bucs on a six-month loan from SuperSport United last season, made 16 appearances and scored one goal across all competitions during this time. Clearly, the Soweto outfit saw potential in the midfielder and decided to make his move permanent.
With more signings expected in the coming weeks, it looks like Orlando Pirates are gearing up for a strong campaign ahead!
